Description

Would you like to develop a good working relationship with your local press and media outlets? Would you know how to handle things if your church was the focus of unwanted media attention?

Catalyst is hosting a half-day workshop that will help you to build a mutually beneficial relationship with people working in the media, and equip you to handle press enquiries with wisdom and authenticity.

We are delighted that Natalie Williams is the speaker for the workshop. Natalie has an MA in Political Communications, and has worked as a journalist on national and regional newspapers both in the UK and in Beijing, China. She now splits her time as a Communications Manager for King's Church Hastings and Jubilee+. She is the co-author of the highly influential book Church for the Poor, and is becoming widely recognised as a champion of social action.

Who should attend

This workshop is aimed anyone who has responsibility for church communications, and particularly public-facing communication. It will also be valuable for leaders who would like to build a relationship between their church and local press, and for church / project leaders who have a public-facing role.

What will it cover

By the end of the workshop you should know:

  • What you need to have in place in the area of media-related communications

  • How to proactively engage those working in the media

  • How to handle difficult situations

There will also be time for a Q&A with Natalie.
